The Truth About Abortion
Abortion is one of the safest medical procedures provided in the United States and Canada today and is considerably safer than carrying a child to term and giving birth.

The following procedures are available at both locations:
Mifeprex is a pill that blocks the growth hormone to the pregnancy. This is given along with a few other medications to cause you to expel the pregnancy in the privacy of your own home. This type of procedure requires you to have 2 follow-up appointments. [Read more]
This procedure is performed by administering local anesthesia around the cervix (the opening into the uterus). The cervix is then dilated using dilators (long rods that start small and taper to bigger sizes) to stretch the cervix open. A suction catheter is then inserted and hooked to a suction machine. This process typically only takes about 5-10 minutes. This procedure is offered with and without IV Sedation. [Read more]
The first day of the procedure you will have laminaria (seaweed sticks about the size of your pinky finger) inserted into your cervix that absorb bodily fluid to cause dilation. The second day, the procedure will be performed. You are required to have someone drive you to the clinic and someone to stay with you overnight.
Some procedures are 3-4 days depending on medical history. The first 2-3 days are used for dilation; the procedure will be performed on the last day. [Read more]
The following procedure is only available at the Germantown, Maryland location:
The first 2-3 days of the procedure you will have laminaria (seaweed sticks about the size of your pinky finger) inserted into your cervix that absorb bodily fluid to cause dilation. On the first day you will also receive an injection into the uterine cavity through the abdominal wall or the vagina which terminates the pregnancy. The last day of the procedure will be your induction. You are required to have someone drive you to the clinic and someone to stay with you overnight.
